Conklin's Tailgate Bar & Grill has earned its reputation by doing something that comes naturally in Western New York.  It feeds people.  For more than three decades, CBnG has welcomed Buffalo Bills fans with a simple philosophy: if you've made the trip to Orchard Park, you've already earned a place at the tailgate.  Regulars, first-time visitors, traveling Bills fans, and even supporters of the opposing team all find the same reception.  There is always room for another chair, another conversation, and another plate of food.  That spirit of generosity has made Conklin's Tailgate Bar & Grill one of the defining gathering places of Bills Mafia and a deserving member of the Tailgating Hall of Fame.

The roots of CBnG stretch back to 1989, when a group of friends from the Dansville, New York area began making the drive to Buffalo every home game.  What started as a traditional parking lot cookout steadily evolved into something much larger.  In 2002, the group officially became Conklin's Tailgate Bar & Grill, creating an identity that reflected both their personalities and their approach to gameday.  A few years later, they introduced Illegal Motion, a restored 1977 bread truck that became their unmistakable home in the parking lot of the iconic Big Tree Inn at the corner of Abbott Road and 20A.  While the truck quickly became a Buffalo landmark, the friendships built around it remained the foundation of the tailgate.

On any given Bills Sunday, anywhere from one hundred to three hundred people gather around CBnG.  Some have been attending for years.  Others discover it for the first time after spotting the towering flagpole or hearing music drifting across the parking lot.  Introductions are short because they rarely seem necessary.  Visitors are encouraged to stay, share a meal, and become part of the morning's conversation.  That welcoming atmosphere has helped CBnG build relationships throughout Bills Mafia while giving countless traveling fans their first authentic Buffalo tailgating experience.

Food has always been one of the tailgate's defining traditions.  Rather than serving the same menu every week, the crew enjoys surprising guests with new creations inspired by Buffalo favorites and game day creativity.  Their signature Aud Club Fried Bologna Sandwich has become a favorite among returning visitors, but breakfast burritos, jerk chicken, wings, and other rotating specialties are just as likely to appear depending on the week.  Local craft beverages, Labatt Blue Light, and the tailgate's well-known Illegal Motion Shot have become traditions in their own right, giving returning guests something familiar while always leaving room for something new.

Behind the grills is a dedicated group that has spent decades building the reputation of CBnG.  Led by Captain Scott "Scotty" Hunsinger alongside John "Pie" Schleyer, Peter "The Conk" Conklin, Jack Conklin, Bart, Peter "The Rock" Krog, Jeff "Foose" Tracy, Steve "Spider" Smyder, Chris "Rambo" Ramsey, and many others, the tailgate operates less like an event and more like a family reunion that happens to coincide with every Bills home game.  Their commitment to hospitality has attracted national attention through appearances on Inside the NFL, CBS Morning Show, and Tailgate Warriors with Guy Fieri, introducing audiences across the country to Buffalo's distinctive tailgating culture.

Buffalo has never measured a tailgate by the size of its television or the cost of its equipment.  It has always measured it by the people gathered around it.  Conklin's Tailgate Bar & Grill represents that tradition as well as any gathering in Orchard Park.  Through decades of friendship, remarkable hospitality, memorable food, and an open invitation to anyone willing to pull up a chair, CBnG has become part of the experience of attending a Buffalo Bills game.  That enduring sense of community is what earned Conklin's Tailgate Bar & Grill its place in the Tailgating Hall of Fame.
