Since 2006, Hans Steiniger has traveled to major pro sports venues across the country in an effort to understand how tailgating differs regionally as one moves from city to city.  Throughout this journey, numerous connections were made with local tailgating groups eager to share their experiences and open their grill pits to the many travelers that Quest for 31. Tailgate Warriors

Member Bio:
The #TailgateWarriors started 4 years ago as a group of friends who were drawn together through their mutual love of Cardinals football. The core group consists of Team Landrum (Troy and Adriana Landrum), Team JV (Joey and Veronica Barabe), Team Sweets (Cherie Sandoval) and The A Team (Art and Annabell Goldberg, “aka King Arthur and Queen Bee”).

Team Landrum have been season ticket holders since 1993 and had the luxury of cheering for our team in the old stadium under the 100+ degree weather! Troy is one of our master grillers, is routinely seen on the big screen, and twice graced the cover of our season ticket holder ticket packet. His wife Adriana, backs up our master grillers with her master prep skills and helps make sure that the food is expedited to the serving area. Team JV consist of our co-master griller, Joey Barabe and his Cardinal-for-Life Wife Veronica. Both are die-hard dedicated fans who represent their team 24/7 and are heavily involved with Arizona Cardinal events. Veronica belongs to Red Bird Ladies, a group dedicated to women who love the Arizona Cardinals and are proud fans. She also helps maintain our Facebook page. Cherie Sandoval from Team Sweets is our baker extraordinaire and creates masterpiece cupcakes and cakes themed for every tailgate. She also helps with setup, maintain our Facebook page, and provides a gift to every visiting kid and out of state visitor. The A Team which consists of the husband and wife team, Art and Annabell, provide dedicated support to the tailgate and are responsible for transporting the massive grill, making sure the supplies are stocked, source the food and other needed food items, write up and post the tailgate notices on the Facebook page, and coordinate the tailgate setup and breakdown. We have two other dedicated partner teams, the Tailgate Kings and Team Olivas who help by providing food when needed and assist with tailgate setup.

Our tailgate day always starts with the “Pre-tailgate” that has run from 4 to 6 hours BEFORE the carpark gates open for tailgating! The core teams line up and pre-tailgate as early as 5:30 a.m.! We do this so that we can be assured of our prime spot and all our friends, family, and guest can find us.

Every tailgate has a dedicated theme that goes along with the visiting team. Themed meals and drinks (we have a full bar!) are provided to all who come whether they are Cardinal fans or the visiting team. When the Saints came to town, we made Shrimp Po’ Boys and we fried up some beignets with the flour from Café du Monde in New Orleans. Our signature meal is a Thanksgiving Tailgate, that consist of giant County Fair sized turkey drumsticks and all the fixings, which are always a hit! This past Thanksgiving Tailgate earned us the “Cardinals Tailgate of the Week!”

We have hosted fans from all over such as England, Canada, and Ireland, and many other places. The #TailgateWarriors have also traveled to cheer for our Cardinals in other cities such as Chicago, Dallas, Indianapolis, Miami, Pittsburgh, and most recently London! Our tailgate is always in the same spot; the southside of the sidewalk that splits the Green E Lot which takes you the big “3”. If you are ever in town for a game, swing by our tailgate. It’s a worry-free place where you can enjoy great food and eat and drink to your hearts content!
