2006, Hans Steiniger has traveled to major pro sports venues across the
country in an effort to understand how tailgating differs regionally as
one moves from city to city. Throughout this journey, numerous
connections were made with local tailgating groups eager to share their
experiences and open their grill pits to the many travelers that Quest

The Hail BBQ Crew was founded when two longtime Washington Redskins tailgate groups
joined forces to create one of the most dynamic tailgates at FedEx Field.
We specialize in preparing food from each region of the visiting team,
developing complex tailgating menus that rival any meal you might order
in a restaurant. Working together with the precision of a seasoned
kitchen crew, our food is prepared onsite on NFL game days.
We cook everything from fresh
lobster rolls when the Patriots are in town to Primanti Bros style sandwiches when the
Steelers come for a visit. We pride ourselves on our ability to
constantly try new things and take on new culinary challenges when it
comes to stretching the limits of what can be accomplished as part of
the pregame tailgate.
Our tailgate is run on donations from patrons on game day,
since we are fully self funded. If you are planning to join
us for a Washington Redskins game, we ask that you help offset our costs for food and essentials
when you decide to come for a visit.
We have anywhere from 100 to 600 people join us for the tailgate, so
RSVP's are extremely important as we use them to determine how much food
to bring with us on game day. Our goal is to provide
a friendly safe atmosphere for fans to go to when the come to Fedex Field.
