Fired Up! Tailgate has redefined what a game day gathering can accomplish.  Since 2015, this Denver Broncos community has welcomed fans outside Empower Field at Mile High with exceptional food, unforgettable hospitality, and a simple mission that guides everything it does: use tailgating to improve the lives of others.  Founded by Ken Castaneda, Catherine Highland, and Rob Garner after the three met during Super Bowl XLVIII festivities in New York, Fired Up! quickly evolved into one of Broncos Country's most recognizable traditions by proving that football, friendship, and philanthropy belong together.

The group's arrival has become one of the familiar sights of Broncos Sundays.  Broncos Country Engine No. 7, a restored 1976 Ford fire truck driven by firefighter Rob "Rescue Rob" Garner, announces itself with flashing lights and a blast of the siren as it rolls into the parking lot.  The vintage engine immediately draws a crowd, but it serves a purpose beyond spectacle.  It marks the gathering place where hundreds of Broncos fans will spend the morning sharing a meal, supporting charitable causes, and celebrating their team together.  Alongside the fire truck, Ken "Bronco Ken" Castaneda's trailer supplies the equipment that transforms an empty parking space into one of Denver's signature game day destinations.

Visitors quickly learn that Fired Up! approaches food with the same care that it approaches community.  Catherine "Bronco Babe" Highland leads a kitchen known for imaginative menus built around Southern comfort food, Colorado favorites, and weekly dishes inspired by each opponent.  Jalapeño shrimp poppers, Memaw's Fried Chicken, smoked sausage from longtime partners, homemade sides, and custom Game Day Cocktails have become anticipated traditions in their own right.  Much of the food and beverage is donated by local sponsors who believe in the organization's mission, allowing the tailgate to focus less on selling meals and more on bringing people together around the table.

That mission is what truly separates Fired Up! from every other tailgate in Broncos Country.  Rather than charging admission, the group invites guests to make voluntary donations that directly support charitable organizations throughout the Denver community.  Over the years, those efforts have benefited HopeKids, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Wounded Warrior programs, Type 1 diabetes awareness initiatives, and numerous local causes.  Every plate served, every raffle ticket purchased, and every contribution made by a visitor becomes another opportunity to help someone beyond the stadium parking lots.  Charity is not an addition to the tailgate experience.  It is the reason the tailgate exists.

The welcoming atmosphere reflects that same philosophy.  Broncos fans, visiting supporters, families, and first-time guests are all invited to share the experience without worrying about whether they belong.  The fire truck may attract attention, but the friendships keep people returning season after season.  Conversations stretch across generations, visitors leave with new friends, and many become regular supporters of both the tailgate and the charitable organizations it serves.  Fired Up! has demonstrated that generosity can become as recognizable a game day tradition as any touchdown celebration or team chant.

Fired Up! Tailgate earned its place in the Tailgating Hall of Fame because it expanded the purpose of tailgating itself.  By combining Denver's welcoming football culture with volunteer service, community partnerships, and a commitment to charitable giving, the organization created a model that extends far beyond Broncos football.  Broncos Country Engine No. 7 may be the symbol that first catches a visitor's eye, but it is the generosity waiting beside it that has made Fired Up! one of the most meaningful traditions in the NFL.
