Our current tailgate began back in 2008. Some of us met on an old Vikings Fan website called WeareVikingsFans.com,
some on Facebook, or in the tailgate lots around the old Metrodome. A few years after we discovered our
mutual love for Tailgating, a threat emerged that our Minnesota Vikings
were going to be sold and that our beloved team and tailgating would be gone forever. We came
together and tailgated at the Capital in St. Paul to fight to save our team, until our voices were heard. After attending countless meetings
and sending thousands of emails to our State Representatives, our team was
saved, which meant that tailgating would live on.
Once the bill was passed to save our Vikings and
build a new stadium, for two seasons, the Minnesota VIkings played home
games at TCF Bank Stadium, home of our Minnesota Gophers Football team.
Tailgating in those parking lots was awesome, because they had enough room so that everyone was together and not split up
between several different lots. We make the best of the Tailgate lots that we have now and we will fight to make sure that we will
always have a spot to tailgate.
We currently have 2 tailgate lots and spots that we tailgate in.
LOT 53: Corner of Washington & Portland, just a few blocks from our US Bank stadium in
downtown Minneapolis. You can find our set up with tailgate tents right next to the Fire Station, we are
located next to their back wall. This sadly is our last year here, as we
found out that the owner of the lot has sold it.
THE PURPLE LOT: Corner of Washington and South 3rd Street. You will find the
PURPLE PRIDE RIG, owned by our very own Larry Maw (Larry Jasinski),
parked in this lot. Purple Lot will be our new and only headquarters starting
for the 2020 Football Season.
Our Game day menu does change, so you may see many different Grilled Meats, CrockPots filled with
warm food and lots of other options. Some of the things that you might see on our menu are, Breakfast
sandwiches, Donuts, Steak Bites, Brats, Hotdogs, Pork Loins, Ribs, Chicken Kabobs, Venison, Finger
Foods, Lots of things wrapped in BACON, we love BACON.
In lot 53, you will find Jen Garza (Lady Pac) and Jim Dazzle (Sir Darth Vlad) behind the grills.
In the PURPLE LOT you will find Patty Jasinski ( Lady Jazzy) behind the grill.
There is no charge to Tailgate with us but we do encourage that people tip the
Cooks and tailgate hosts for all of their hard work & dedication in
making the tailgate experience possible. Our main goal is to have a
great time, cheer for our team, eat and drink well and everyone is
welcome. If you’re from out of town and come to our tailgate in the
winter months, bundle up, we still tailgate when the temps are below
zero. We do try to have heaters in our tents and warm drinks to pass
around. Come join the VIKING WORLD ORDER TAILGATE for an awesome
tailgate experience. #StepRightUp
