Member Bio:
The Blue Crew was essentially founded before the
Houston Texans ever got their name, as a group of die-hard fans jammed together in
a van to see the Texans play the fanchise's first game at the Hall of Fame game, in Canton, Ohio.
Now boasting a following of close to seventy vehicles for each Houston Texans home game, Blue Crew membership is booming as they sprawl out over close to 1600 square feet of asphalt. These Texans fans can be found on gameday in the
NRG Stadium Parking Lots located at the southeast corner of Westridge Road and Kirby.
The Blue Crew is the home tailgate of several Houston Texans Superfans, many of whom are members of Professional Football’s Ultimate Fan Association. They pride themselves in providing a family-oriented atmosphere for tailgating throughout the NFL regular season and welcome visitor fans with open arms. Southern hospitality is alive and well in Houston, Texas and the Blue Crew are a big part of trying to foster a safe and friendly environment for visiting fans who choose to support their team on the road at
NRG Stadium.
In the fine tradition of Texas Barbecue, the Blue Crew serves up an
exceptional gameday menu in a potluck format incorporating all kinds
smoked meats and sides into an impressive feast. Pregame activities
include a piñata for the kids two hours before gametime and the Bull Pen
Shot an hour and a half before kickoff. The Commissioner of Tailgating,
Joe Cahn, has named Blue Crew Tailgates #1 in the NFL multiple times, so
if you get an opportunity to tailgate with these guys, don’t pass it up.
