The EagleMobile tailgate was established in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field, the Linc, in 2005. Prior to that date, we were Eagle Season Ticket holders and avid tailgaters but we were not an organized and named group. On a road trip to Cleveland in 2004, we set up our travel tailgate next to an old RV belonging to a Browns fan. After a gift (bribe) of a cheesesteak, the owner allowed us the privilege of using the bathroom and the idea of a tailgating RV was comceived. The original EagleMobile was a (well)used 1979 RV that was “Eagled up” with green paint and graphics. At the first preseason game of the 2005 Season, the EagleMobile arrived in our spot in Linc Lot E-4 and the legend was born.
Our tailgate begins when the lots open seven hours prior to kick-off. For a typical day game, we start with breakfast featuring Irish American Philly omelets (made with Irish swiss, American and Philly cream cheese), bacon, scrapple and Taylor’s Pork Roll (Taylor’s Ham to the locals). For lunch we shift to a standard fare of hot and sweet Italian sausage with peppers, onions and sauce, ribs, steaks, and cheesesteaks. Other entrees could be roast beef, fried or roasted turkey, roast pork, leg of lamb, and venison. Once a year, we feature a whole roast pig in addition to the regular fare. We have cold beer and wine provided by our regulars and available to guests. Our bar serves morning Bloody Marys, and our Bartenders special concoction, the ”Tomakazi”.
For Godfather aficionados, we operate on a variation of the Corleone method for first-time visitors, namely, someday, and that day may never come, we may call upon you to do us a service, but until that day, enjoy the hospitality of the EagleMobile. If you return or wish to join with our regular guests, we ask that you contribute either food or libations for the bar.
